Mission Projects

The members and friends of St James are committed to serving God and building God’s Kingdom through mission and service projects. Every year we dedicate 10% of gross pledges toward mission. This money goes toward hands-on projects as well as financial gifts to partner organizations. Here are some of the ongoing mission projects at St James.

Feeding Ministry

The feeding ministry meets on the last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month to prepare hearty and tasty food for neighbors in need. We partner with North Valley Caring Services, whose outreach team takes the meals to unhoused people. Since its inception in mid-2022, the Feeding Ministry has made over 1,000 meals!

Hygiene Kits

The youth of the church regularly assemble hygiene kids that can be handed out to neighbors in need. They contain soap, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, toothpaste, and other essential items for the unhoused. Pick up a hygiene kit (or two) at the Welcome Table at the church entrance and hand them out whenever you see a neighbor in need.

Want to help us make more hygiene kits? You can purchase items right from our Amazon List, and have them shipped straight to the church!

Youth Mission Week

Each summer, the children and youth of the church gather together for a week of local mission projects. Recently, they shopped for school supplies for kids in need, made cards for new residents at The Woodlands, and made 200 PB&J sandwiches for neighbors in need.

St James regularly opens collections for items to benefit our mission partners and neighbors in needs. These might include school supplies, hygiene supplies, clothes, and books.
